When you hear the word “calling,” what comes to mind? I wrote a poem five years ago with my own understanding of that word at that time in my life. The good Lord has a unique way of fine-tuning our thinking. I invite you to come along and see how He tweaked me to “see” what “calling” means through His eyes!

As a writer, I love words. It wasn’t until Jesus became my Lord and Savior that I realized the true significance and power of words. As God designed it to be, words are seeds we sow and they will always bear a harvest. We reap what we sow. God’s greatest gift and legacy to the world was His living Word Jesus, who showed us the Father’s heart of love lived out so we could know and follow Him.

Do you remember the nursery rhyme: Sticks and stones may break my bones but names will never hurt me… That is a false statement. Words can cause damage because words are the most powerful creative force there is. God created the world with His spoken Word. Words are containers that carry the power of life or death, so watch what you say. It matters!
